INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR KLEER REMEDIAL SUPPORT OILWICK STYLE SKIMMER
-read prior to installation-
This custom Remedial Support Skimmer recovers hydrocarbon liquids floating on water using an oleophilic wick located under the slotted chamber at the top of your skimmer.
To operate efficiently the oil surface should be between the top and bottom of the slotted section of the chamber (approx 5" vertical). Fastest oil recovery takes place in the top half of the slotted section. The wick is designed to recover an oil layer of any vertical thickness floating on water when it flows through the slotted cover.
The KLEER reservoir is always below the fluid surface; ensure that you have sufficient depth of fluid.
ATTACH permanently the upper END of your lifting chain to the wellhead to ensure that you will not lose your KLEER downhole! DO THIS PRIOR TO CONDUCTING ANY MEASUREMENTS.
Adjust chain length using s-hooks according to the current fluid depth in order to limit the descent of the skimmer. It is important that your know the depth below wellhead of your stabilized upper fluid surface.
The top of the skimmer is open and will flood with water if allowed to sink to the water interface.
Ensure that the drain valve at base of skimmer is closed. The drain valve closes using normal clockwise turns. Lift your skimmer and drain it through the drain valve in the base.
